FAQ
About Our Cattle
Is Your Beef Grass Fed?
Yes. We raise our cattle start to finish on the range at the foot of the Bighorn Mountains.
Where Does Your Beef Come From?
Our beef is born, bred, and raised on the ranch west of Kaycee, Wyoming. We know our cattle inside and out, they really are part of the family. We can tell you almost anything about each animal from breeding to personality to health history.
Do You Use Antibiotics?
We do when necessary. We care deeply for our animals and part of animal husbandry requires treating animals that become sick. Sometimes that sickness requires an antibiotic to return the animal to good health. Antibiotics are given only if necessary, and it is normally a single round of treatment.
Do You Use Hormones?
No. We do not use growth hormones or steroids.
Do You Vaccinate?
Again, part of good animal husbandry requires that we protect our herd from different common diseases. This requires vaccinations, yearly.
Vaccines we use: Vision 7 and Pyramid 5

We work with Western Heritage Meat Company, a USDA inspected meat processing company, out of Sheridan, Wyoming.
Your beef will also be shipped from that same facility.

How will my beef be shipped?
Your beef will be shipped frozen in a sturdy cardboard box with recyclable/compostable insulation and dry ice.
Is Your Beef Dry-Aged?
Yes. We dry-age our beef for 2-3 weeks, unlike store-bought beef, for optimum flavor and tenderness.
What is Dry Aging?
Dry aging is a process where the beef is hung in a temperature controlled room for two - three weeks. This causes the meat to become much more tender and flavorful.
Though it may weigh less than wet-aged beef, or meat you find in the grocery store, the result is a premium cut of meat that is much more flavorful and tender.
Do You Use Additives?
Absolutely not. You are getting a 100% natural product. You will notice a slightly less red color to our beef than you'll see from a grocery store. That's because grocery stores use additives to give their meat that bright red color. We do not.
